How We Do 2013

Year #1 in Cape Town

With school close its end and the December holidays just commencing , the fun and joy will leave no vestige of studying stress. I, for certain , cannot wait to pack my bags and fly out of Cape Town  this Friday to go back and experience some Pretorian exuberance after a yearlong of Mother City madness. Really though, this year of 2013 has been an exhaustive one for me.

The school work  (phew!) has been too much, or maybe I just made it  a larger work load than usual but either way, whatever it was I worked hard and the results were not what I reaped, in fact they were more than I expected.

If there’s 2 things that I've learned , it has to be the fact that I’m just as capable of achieving success as South Africa’s figures in authority can deal in corruption (too much  Animal Farm and politics I guess) I also learn that each person’s success should be incurred by themselves by using every opportunity to prove themselves to the unconcerned individuals around them (not mentioning names).

Whoa, do I still have a social life? When last have I mingled? Cape Town was filled with short “fooling around” buzzes that I merely participated in due to the extreme levels of having to live a conservative life with books being my only girlfriend. Having no cell phone actually made me a subdued person and trust me, I can break myself down just by thinking. One thing I couldn't do without was social networking (Especially twittersphere), so provision had to be made. I feel embarrassed at times to have lived such a dull life in terms , especially with Cape Townies telling me that this area is no place to be restrained in my house when there’s so many event and stuff to do. I’ll make up for that next year.

One other thing, Cape Town’s street style. Damn! It’s the type to make your eyes have spasmodic surges (is that even physically possible?). Really! Varsity student here rock vintage and other trends like it’s a spiritual thing. You know they say money talks, well hopefully if mine can recite long subliming  speeches, I’ll be able to ooze what  “Da Motherland” has subconsciously schooled me  about pulling of simple fashion trends.

To conclude everything, my experience in Cape Town has been here-and-there, I've been uncertain about it most of the time, but come to think about it, there’s actually no place I’d rather be then here in Cape Town (for the next 2 years at least). I’d most definitely like to thank the guy who gains ground above for some blurred bible idea my calls “A BLESSING” – Truly speaking, I think it’s a MIRACLE that  I’m here and I coped, maybe it’s where I belong after all.
